What is "Buy Out" music?
This is music in which you "Buy Out" the mechanical copyright at the time of purchase
or lease of the CD. Every time you use the CD on a production there is no need to
fill in a form and make a payment to the Mechanical Copyright Protection Society
(MCPS).
Note: You still need to give the PRS (Performing Rights Society) details when requested,
but this does not usually involve you in any extra payment, since PRS is paid by
the broadcaster as a blanket licence.

Freenotes is a unique music library available to production companies and broadcasters
in the UK . The Freenotes CD's are available free - all you have to do is make sure
all PRS details are sent to the broadcaster when you use the track.
